Today, we will be reflecting on the feeling of resentment. Resentment is a feeling of bitterness or indignation that comes from believing you have been treated unfairly. Perhaps you didn’t get the thing (love, appreciation, support, a reward, the promotion, the affection) you think you deserved.
Resentment keeps our emotional wounds open and actively nourishes negative and angry feelings toward others. Resentment inhibits self-awareness because it hides our vulnerable feelings, like shame or disappointment, by blaming them on someone else.
Today, we will explore what it looks like to surrender our resentments and discover the freedom of forgiveness.
