LIVESTREAM  OPERATIONS  ENGINEER

Position Type   |   Consultant; 1099
Hours   |   7:30am-12:30pm on Sundays
Location   |   The Well NYC, 58 Park Ave (btwn 37th & 38th St)
Compensation   |   $220 per Sunday
  • 1-hr weekly admin paid out at $40 per hour (additional pay for more hours if needed)
  • 2 sick Sundays after 6 months of work / 2 vacation Sundays after 8 months of work

Key Responsibilities:
  • Livestream the church service to YouTube (currently via OBS) and overseeing production team volunteers on Sunday morning to make it all happen (camera operators, slide presenters etc)
  • Operating video switching equipment
  • Setting up stage lighting
  • Setting up front of house presentations
  • Troubleshooting video, camera, and network issues
  • Troubleshooting and maintaining Mac OS X systems and applications
  • Managing and maintaining all production equipment inventory

Must have relevant work experience.  Experience with the below a plus:
+   Understanding and troubleshooting network issues
+   ProPresenter or any other front of house presentation software
+   Working with a church, faith-based, or non-profit organization

SOUND  ENGINEER

Position Type   |   Consultant; 1099
Hours   |   Sundays from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with occasional additional midweek events
Location   |   The Well NYC, 58 Park Ave (btwn 37th & 38th St)
Compensation   |   Rate: $40-$60/hour depending on experience

Position Overview:
The Well is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sound Engineer to oversee the audio needs for our Sunday morning services. This individual will play a key role in creating a seamless, high-quality sound experience for our congregation.

 Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain the church’s sound system during Sunday morning worship services, including setup and teardown.
  • Mix live audio for worship band, vocalists, and speakers to ensure clear, artfully balanced sound throughout the service.
  • Work closely with the Worship Director and production team to coordinate sound requirements for weekly services and special events.
  • Set up microphones, speakers, and other audio equipment as needed, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to minimize disruption during services.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the church’s sound equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Help train and mentor volunteers who may assist with sound during services or events.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a live sound engineer (experience working in a church or other nonprofit is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of audio mixing consoles, microphones, and sound equipment.
  • Ability to work with various types of audio equipment, including analog and digital systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work well with church staff, musicians, volunteers, and production team members.
  • Ability to calmly troubleshoot and problem-solve technical issues on the spot.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
  • While a specific religious background is not required, candidates should demonstrate a spirit of humility and a willingness to serve the church’s mission and support its ministry through excellent sound production.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and move audio equipment (up to 40 pounds).
  • Standing for extended periods during services or events.
  • Ability to work in a darkened or dimly lit environment (during services).

Additional Desired Skills:
+   Familiarity with software such as ProTools, Logic Pro, and/or other studio recording or mixing experience is a plus.
+   Experience with video and livestreaming equipment is a plus.
